Welcome to Headland Cottage with Terraced Garden by the Beach in
Porthallow Cove, SW Cornwall
Headland Cottage,
Porthallow,
South West Cornwall
Porthallow is an attractive village situated in a cove on the east side of The Lizard Peninsula just south of the Helford River Estuary. The area is well known for its beautiful coastline, sandy beaches and fishing villages with surrounding unspoilt countryside and farmland. The village has a thriving public house, a craft/gift shop and a highly rated cafe.
Porthallow is a great place to fish either off the beach or from the rocks on either side of the cove.
At low tide, children will enjoy the rock pooling and as the cove is usually quite sheltered, swimming and messing about in boats is great fun.
‘Funnel watchers’ will enjoy the distant views towards St Anthony’s Lighthouse as boats move in and out of Falmouth Harbour and sailing craft manoeuvre in the bay.
Dogs in attendance with their owners are allowed on the beach at all times of the year.
Headland Cottage
‘Headland Cottage’ is an exquisite three bedroomed property in the South West of Cornwall, in a spectacular position built into the cliff beside the cove.
The cottage enjoys unrivalled views over the beach, countryside and coastline in both directions. All bedrooms have sea views and the property benefits from an award winning terraced garden with stunning views across the cove to St Anthony's Lighthouse and St Mawes.
Terraced Garden
A boathouse is approached from the beach with parking in front for two vehicles and above is a terraced garden with stunning views across the cove and out to sea – to be enjoyed with a barbecue and bottle of wine!!
Steps lead upwards from the boathouse to the cottage and the terraced garden which has a separate entrance through a small gate.

We love staying at Headland Cottage.
We had a fantastic week - the weather was warm and
sunny every day; we caught lots of fish and prawns and swam in the sea every day.
